🎓 Mentee on the Move: TanZion

For TaZion, senior year is about more than preparing for graduation. It is a season of growing in confidence, independence, leadership, and purpose.

TanZion’s journey with Covered Ministries began in 2021 when he volunteered with SWEEAC. He later expanded his community service through Streetwise Georgia and Mending the Gap and became an active participant in CMI volunteer projects, college tours, basketball camps, and Mentor Thursdays.

CMI mentors have witnessed his confidence grow firsthand. The shy, soft-spoken young man who entered the program has grown into someone who is increasingly social, confident, outspoken, and willing to lead.

Today, TanZion is a senior at Georgia Connections Academy, serves as a Middle School Crew Leader at Victory Dacula, and recently began working at Zaxby’s. He especially enjoys serving in middle school ministry because it gives him an opportunity to help younger students grow in their faith through discipleship.

After graduation, TanZion plans to attend Elevation College in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he is interested in studying Pastoral Care & Counseling or Family Ministry. The small Christian college environment appeals to him because of the opportunity to grow alongside other students while gaining hands-on ministry experience.

Ultimately, TanZion hopes to become a grief counselor, helping people walk through seasons of loss without losing hope, while encouraging them to continue living out their purpose.

From volunteering in his community to mentoring younger students and preparing for college, TanZion’s story demonstrates what can happen when young people are given opportunities to serve, grow, lead, and discover their purpose.

And for Zion, the journey is just getting started. 🎓💙💛
