Mentor Thursdays are Back!

Covered Ministries Inc. Brings Back Mentor Thursdays at New Location

Covered Ministries Inc. (CMI) welcomed Gwinnett County students back to its Mentor Thursday Program, a free youth mentoring and life-skills program designed to help students grow academically, socially, and personally.

The returning program has a new home at Lucky Shoals Park in Norcross, 4651 Britt Road, Meeting Room #114, Norcross, Georgia, where participating students meet from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Mentor Thursday is free and open to students throughout Gwinnett County in grades 6–12.

Through mentoring, group discussions, interactive activities, and practical lessons, CMI seeks to create a supportive space where young people can develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate school, relationships, future employment, and the transition into adulthood.

This year, the program will incorporate lessons from Overcoming Obstacles, an award-winning, research-based K–12 life-skills curriculum. The curriculum features hundreds of activity-based lessons addressing more than 30 essential skills.

Students will explore topics such as effective communication, informed decision-making, goal setting, conflict resolution, problem-solving, teamwork, and respect for others. Rather than simply talking about these skills, the curriculum gives young people opportunities to practice and apply them to real-life situations.

The return of Mentor Thursday reflects Covered Ministries Inc.'s continued commitment to investing in young people and providing families with accessible resources that support positive youth development.
